Please see the most badass beetles ever!!
They are the gold-colored (Chrysina aurigans) and silver-colored (Chrysina limbata) beetles.
Researchers are looking to these beetles, which are found in Costa Rica, to recreate the appearance of metals. From the information they collect they might be able to produce new materials based on the natural properties found in the beetles' coloring.
