These mushrooms were found Sunday morning across the street from East 2nd Street near Avenue C.
At about 8 inches tall, spongy body, a bright red coloring with a dick head-like shape, these mushrooms do kind of resemble...Hehe....they are part of the stinkhorn mushroom family, and are toxic so don’t even think about putting one in your mouth!!!
They grew over night after Irene hit...they say that hurricanes create the perfect climate for mushrooms to grow.
